For several years it has been the objective of Turley International Resources to bring a polished stone flooring to the market that would be revolutionary in the chemistry applied, cost effectiveness and aesthetically both acceptable in comparison to traditional terrazzo and unique with aggregates that are used from TIR’s vast supply resources. We are very pleased to be able to announce that we have achieved these objectives. We are now establishing a network of distributors and applicators in the United States and in other countries as well. Chemistry:
The main objective has been to have all the ingredients in one bag and to be able to just add water at the job site. That is exactly what we have achieved. The chemistry consists of a proprietary formulation of polymers for use with cement, aggregates, pigments and water.

A second objective has been to cut down on the time requirements for the labor to install the product as well as cut down on the number of visits required to the jobsite. The cost of time has been dramatically reduced due to the chemistry of the proprietary formulation. It is somewhat subjective to temperature and humidity, but in most cases the cure time allows for next day polishing and sealing with the job being completely finished in two visits.

Cost Effective:
The cost savings for the contractor come into play because of the labor savings due to the decreased number of visits, the types of polymers employed, and that almost all of the aggregate sources are owned by Turley Int’l. Resources.

Labor costs can be reduced by up to thirty percent.

The cost of the polymers, when compared to traditional Epoxy for terrazzo, is less expensive. The “Magic Matrix”, without aggregates is available for those who are committed to using aggregates specified for a job, which may not be available from TIR.

The cost savings to the end user are realized in the fact that the flooring is built to last 50+ years, and maintenance costs are so low that over a 50 year period, Stone Edge™ Polished Stone Flooring can cost as little as $1 per square foot.

Another cost saving feature is that TIR makes samples available for architects and contractors thus doing away with long time delays and trained personnel to make samples.

No Waste:
Over 26 different types and colors of aggregates are used in the mixes. We have standardized the mixes into groups. There are 13 standard aggregate mixes that can be pigmented in eight stock colors (plus any custom colors on larger orders) from which to choose. That makes the design capabilities very versatile. Most applicator only stock two or three aggregate mixes to cut down on costs of maintaining inventory.

Aesthetics:
Nothing, in the fantastic visual appeal of polished stone flooring, has been sacrificed to achieve the chemistry and labor saving objectives. TIR has quarries and mines in the United States, South America and New Zealand from which most of the aggregates are sourced. Other very appealing aggregates are available under exclusive contracts. We also stock and supply a unique collection of aggregates that are available to the terrazzo industry. The design possibilities with our aggregates are endless. Magic Matrix

The Magic Matrix is packaged in 20 Lb. bags. Each bag is to be mixed with 30 Lbs. of aggregate per batch. If larger batches are required TIR can provide custom packaging.
